It's YOUR money, tell us how we should spend it!

Our friends at Bradley Big Local Partnership need YOUR help to shape the  next phase of investment in Bradley ward.

Big Lottery funding is still available for improvements to services, infrastructure and the community and we want to know what you, the people who live here, think this should be spent on.  So please take a little time to complete this questionnaire.  It's important we get as many responses from as many residents as we can to inform the next Bradley Big Local Action Plan.

On Friday, 1st May 2020, BBL Community Land Trust launched its Bradley Food 2 Go project offering support to vulnerable residents and key workers in the Bradley and Hodge House areas of Nelson.

Funded by Bradley Big Local Partnership and the Community Foundation for Lancashire, Bradley Food 2 Go offers a free takeaway meal each Friday evening to people who are struggling to get out and about or have been severely financially impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Trust also wants to recognise the contribution made by key workers who are continuing to provide vital services to the community.  Those key workers who live in the area or whose workplace is here can also enjoy a free takeaway!

We couldn't do all this, however, without the help of local hot food businesses and, to date, meals have been supplied by Chief's Health Kitchen, Al Noor House, Revive Cafe, Samosa Hut and Alfie's - all at a discounted cost.  And let's not forget our volunteer delivery driver, Waqas Arshad (Chair of BBL Community Land Trust) who's been making sure the food gets to all the addresses on the list.

We plan to continue providing a weekly takeaway for the next three months (approximately) and still have room left on the list for more residents and key workers to join.  The businesses featured below take it in turns to provide the meals each week.  These come in individual or family portions and both meat and vegetable options are available.  Once you're accepted on to the list you can benefit from a meal each week until the project ends.

If you would like to be considered for a Bradley Food 2 Go meal, please email us on bradleyfood2go@outlook.com or sent us a private message through our Facebook page: @bradleyfood2go.

We're also keen to hear from other Bradley and Hodge House based hot food businesses who would like to support the community at this time.  Helping us provide the meals not only helps your business but allows us to offer a bigger variety of meals.  You can contact us through this website or by email to info@bbl-clt.org or bradleyfood2go@outlook.com.

STAY HOME AND STAY SAFE!
31st March 2020: BBL Community Land Trust asks you all to look after yourself and your family and follow Government advice during the Covid 19 pandemic.

Hodge House Community Centre remains closed and will only re-open when we're advised it is safe to do so.

Construction of our new homes at Beech Street continues but is restricted to outside work where contractors can maintain a satisfactory distance from one another.  It is likely, however, that building work will cease in the next few days as it is more and more difficult to get building materials and supplies and we want to make sure the people who're working for us are not put at risk.

If you're finding it difficult to cope with social isolation and need help getting food and medication or advice on financial issues, Pendle Borough Council has set up links with organisations who can help.  Details are on the Council's website:
https://www.pendle.gov.uk/communitysupporthub.

Take care and we hope to see you again soon!

17th March 2020: Bradley Big Local Community Land Trust suspends community centre room hire bookings.

Click on the Hodge House Community Centre page for details.
